Shane MacGowan has been discharged from hospital after being admitted with an infection last week.
The former Pogues frontman joined on December 5th.
His wife, Victoria Mary Clarke, has been keeping fans updated on his health with social media posts.
On Wednesday evening, she said the 64-year-old had come home from the hospital and was “watching football”.
“Thank you to everyone who sent messages and blessings to everyone who has a loved one in the hospital and who is in the hospital themselves, and blessings to the doctors and nurses,” she said.
Ms Clarke previously told fans on Twitter that MacGowan is being treated for “an infection and doctors are confident he will be fine”.
The singer and songwriter was allowed to go home from the hospital just in time for his birthday on Christmas Day.
After accidents in 2016 and 2020, he is in a wheelchair.
He now has a full-time carer after he fell in 2016 and fractured his pelvis while reportedly doing “a complicated dance move,” according to his wife.
At the end of 2020 he broke his knee and torn ligaments.
Fans wrote in the comments section below Ms Clarke’s Twitter post to welcome MacGowan’s release, sending their thoughts and prayers to the couple.
One tweeted: “Brilliant news Victoria. Get well soon, Shane. They have a great nurse there.”
