Sharon Osbourne joins TalkTV to host the week’s evening news

Sharon Osbourne has been announced as the newest sign of the fledgling TalkTV channel.

he is a TV presenter who is married to Ozzy, head of Black Sabbath, will present a primetime news program called The Talk on weeknights.

She joins former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan and former The Sun political editor Tom Newton Dunn in the new venture from News UK.

Her hour-long show will feature five “popular celebrities” from different backgrounds and with different perspectives as they discuss issues like news, politics, crime crime, entertainment and sports.

It comes after Osbourne left the American talk show The Talk, which aired on CBS, following an online debate with her co-host Sheryl Underwood.

They clashed in March 2021 while discussing Morgan’s comments on the Duchess of Sussex’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Osbourne has defended Morgan from accusations of racism, with the incident taking The Talk on a one-month hiatus.

Osbourne, 69, said: “I am delighted to be working with News UK, its board of directors and my good friend Piers. Keep an eye on this space for some interesting and heated debates from all of us. ”

News UK chief executive Rebekah Brooks said: “Sharon has built a unique and hugely successful media career, combining strong point of view and opinion with lots of fun and warmth.

“Her unwavering energy will enable her to showcase a compelling viewing style and we are delighted to give her a new home at TalkTV.”

Following the announcement, Morgan tweeted: “BOOM! Welcome aboard. ”
