Paloma Faith on the struggles of motherhood

Paloma Faith is known for her eccentric tastes – so it’s no surprise that this is reflected in the colorful yet chic decor of her London home.

The Do You Want The Truth or Something Beautiful singer, 40, revealed she furnished the luxury townhouse all by herself.

While some items in the home she shares with boyfriend Leyman Lahcine and their two children are by designers, many items come from vintage shops or eBay.

“Every room reflects who I am,” Paloma told Architectural Digest. “I was determined to do it alone. It’s all out of my head.”

The mother-of-two added: “I went through all the most expensive stories I could find to find what I actually wanted, then tried to make it or find it cheaper somewhere else – which I’m pretty good at as a person summarizes.”

A self-confessed lover of vintage, bohemian and old-school glamour, the singer recently launched her own home interior range called Paloma Home.

Here we take a sneak peek inside her chic London townhouse that inspired her new collection.

Paloma has set up her living room in a 1970s opium den and says she always has instruments around the house when her musician friends drop by.

In the bay window is a white baby piano with an old gramophone on it, and a record player on the sideboard for vinyl.

Guests can choose to sit in the seventies rattan peacock chair or the hanging egg seat by the window.

There’s also a striking leopard print sofa that was originally made from cream faux leather. She bought it on eBay and had it reupholstered in Ralph Lauren fabric.

The wallpaper is green chinoiserie, an art style adopted by Asian countries in the 18th centuryth Century, which later became popular in France and the rest of Europe.

Pink fans will love Paloma’s kitchen, which she styled in a mix of black and bubblegum pink.

There’s a giant candy-colored fridge, pink walls, black and gold kitchen furniture, and white marble countertops.

The singer said it’s important to her to have a kitchen that extends into the dining area – even if her kitchen isn’t always the best.

She once gave Alan Carr and Adele food poisoning after rustling up a batch of lamb kebabs.

“I bought the meat at a really good supermarket, which I won’t name, but I’d like to sue,” she said at the time.

Other standout features of the home include the striking black and white striped hallway and staircase.

She said: “When I told people I was going to paint my entrance black and white stripes, everyone thought I was crazy. But I am enthusiastic about this high contrast.”

Paloma describes her vintage master bedroom with a red leather bed and dark wallpaper as “Slutsvilla USA!”

While her chic bathroom features botanical wallpaper — the same as at the Beverly Hills Hotel — and a freestanding white bathtub with gold faucets.

One of her favorite rooms in the house belongs to her oldest child – and is decorated with a circus theme.

Paloma revealed that she hired a woman she found on Pinterest to create the red elephant and lion mural.

“This is the room I would have liked to have slept in,” she confessed.

There’s even a gold freestanding tub in the window in the kid’s bathing area, which is fancier than most adult bathrooms.

But if Paloma thought of her house as a body, she says her “closet would be the heart.”

She loves clothes so much that she dedicated an entire room to her — and it’s a pink and white stripe dream.

There is a walk-in closet and an island with her shoes, stage outfits and a selection of colorful wigs and headpieces.

It’s a far cry from when she was “broke” and had to have four shelves of elaborate costumes in the small space she rented while making music, doing cabaret and working as a magician’s assistant.
