Resident Evil 4 is making news again: whether it’s because Resident Evil 4 VR recently released version for Oculus Quest 2 (or Meta Questif you like) or the nagging rumors about the game being treated to a classic Capcom remake these days, you’ll likely see the game popping up all over stores.

But what does the game’s creator and director think of the 2005 classic as it’s being drawn to stonewalling and screaming back to relevance and the cold light of day?

When asked to comment on existence Rumors of Resident Evil 4 Remake Mikami told VG247 that “fans will most likely want it, and that’s a good thing.” He also noted, perhaps a bit self-deprecatingly, “It would be great if Capcom could do a great job and make the story better, and deliver a good product at the same time.” .

When asked for clarification on his comments on improving the story of the original Resident Evil 4, Mikami revealed that he wrote the entire story in just three weeks. According to the former Capcom executive, this is because he “only had three weeks to write it”. Talk about a difficult deadline.

For now, however, the rumors about the Resident Evil 4 Remake are just that: rumors. While many reports have alleged the existence of the remake under the original developer/publisher Capcom – even claiming that development has been moved from the M-Two studio to the in-house Resident Evil team. by Capcom – nothing has been confirmed by the publisher.

As for Mikami’s hopes of a remake that potentially improves upon the story of the original Resident Evil 4, Capcom’s past remakes really have a track record of changing the story of old Resident Evil games. , if only a little.

The 2020 Resident Evil 3 Remake slightly changed the role of surprise STAR agent Brad, letting the sidekick die and resurrect as an off-screen zombie, for example, only to bite Marvin Branagh shortly after. Does Resident Evil 4 change things up a bit – now, apparently with Mikami’s explicit permission? We’ll have to wait and see.
