Showing mercy to Boris Becker would do us all good

We all struggle to survive life at various stages, but not many of us take undue exposure to the general public.
Some media commentators, who draw from their almost inexhaustible collection of unfriendly statements, are now attacking the great ex-tennis champion Boris Becker, who has gotten into difficult times.
Unfortunate events happen to everyone, but not all are ridiculed and judged by people they don’t know, or the real personal details of their unfortunate fall from grace.
Mr. Becker is all about business and money.
Many are guilty of far worse crimes, but are fortunate to never read or hear about themselves in the world media and, more importantly, not be imprisoned.
Let’s not forget this:
“The quality of mercy is not strained;
It drips from the sky like the gentle rain
In the space below.
It is doubly blessed – it blesses those who give and those who take.”
We can do this in our minds so no one has to know.

It’s time to show the Russian diplomatic mission the door
According to RussiaWhen state television casually talked about inflicting a nuclear holocaust on Ireland for purely geographical reasons, it is long overdue that Irish government bureaucrats immediately and indefinitely expelled all Russian diplomatic mission, along with a ban on all economic activities with the Russian Federation immediately and
indefinite effect.
There can be no other response to such unprovoked, casual aggression through the mouthpieces of Wladimir Putin and his gangster bullies.

What will the visit of Irish dignitaries to Kyiv achieve?
Ceann Comhairle and Seanad Cathaoirleach will both visit Kyiv.
Aside from the stupid rationale behind that so-called invitation and the time and energy hard-pressed Ukrainian soldiers will expend to protect this couple, can anyone tell me what this colossal waste of money is going to accomplish? Shaking hands, nodding and already promised insurance from the Irish distract Ukraine government when they least need it.

They are Olympic champions. you are world champion You have done everything, you owe no one and no one. And yet there is one final competition, the challenge of getting to the top, a question that has brought down many of the world’s greatest sporting icons.

When selfishness becomes an article of faith for many
Read recent letters and reports on the on/off lawn cutting ban in the Irish Independentand looking at various media reports about the UK once again delaying import regulation laws, I have come to believe that there is a large proportion of the world’s population who practice the religion of ‘Iism’.
Membership is intended solely for individuals who believe they are accountable to no one. The only adjective forbidden in this religion is “holistic”.
Judgment Day is going to be hilarious indeed!

Insurance companies value timely information
It’s that time of year again for me when I look around and get a car insurance quote that doesn’t cost a fortune and still gives me the best possible protection.
This year I contacted nine insurance companies and brokers to see who could give me the best deal. I did most of this online as it lowers the cost of premiums rather than calling the companies directly.
The information insurance companies seek is fairly standard, but any person seeking a policy should know that they must do so within 30 days of their insurance expiring.
Some websites will not quote you or allow you to enter information if you are outside of this time frame.
