With a dramatic, Regency-era setting rife with Jane Austen-like suspense, the actors have also become famous for their appearances.
Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Page seem to attract the most interest in season one.
Now, season two is more focused on Anthony Bridgerton, played by Jonathan Bailey, and Kate Sharma played by Simone Ashley, and fans can expect the worse to be somewhat alleviated.
Although the series helped make the stars famous, some of the actors started starring in shows like Broadchurch, Waterloo Road, and Casualty.

Jonathan told Radio Times: “I read the book so I knew my character, Anthony, was going to have a lot to deal with and it would be an interesting progression.”

Simone Ashley’s most notable role to date is as Olivia Hanan in Bad Education.
Like Bailey, the current on-screen love affairs are all in Broadchurch, though Ashley played a smaller part over just two episodes.
Simone talked about her friendship with Bailey on set, revealing that he left her flowers in the trailer on her first date, which she later did for him.
Playing Kate Sharma, she told Glamor, “I’ll always let him have his favorite snacks in his trailer. We had a very unspoken rhythm going along. That is to say, leaving gifts in each other’s trailers.”

BBC viewers may remember Phoebe Dyvenor from Waterloo Road, when she played Siobhan Mailey in series five.
She has also appeared in The Musketeers, as well as recurring roles in Snatch, Prisoners’ Wives and Martha Cratchit in Dickensian.
With the series following the books of the same name, Phoebe no longer plays a prominent role in the story
She told Entertainment Weekly: “Daphne became the adult of the family… She found what she was looking for – she had a child, she was a wife and mother. She’s really confident and feminine this season.”

Caught in the messy world of regent courtship is another of Sharma’s sisters, Edwina Sharma, played by Charitha Chandran.
The 25-year-old’s career has had a few less notable acting credits than her co-stars and she may be best known for playing Sabina Pleasance in season two of Alex Rider.
Her character Edwina grows quite fond of Anthony Bridgerton, and a conflict could arise as things heat up between Anthony and his sister Kate.

Shelley Conn plays Lady Mary Sharma, Sharma’s matriarch, worried about growing heartbreak between her two daughters.
From London with a secret about her daughters’ marriage prospects, Lady Mary must watch as it could be the key to the family’s financial stability.
Conn is used to roles in major shows and movies, having landed the lead role on Steven Spielberg’s Terra Nova in 2011 appearing in W1A, Death in Paradise and Backm alongside David Mitchell and Robert Webb.

While filming for Bridgerton, Nicola Coughlan also tried to star in a new series of Derry Girls, the role for which she is best known.
Playing Penelope Featherington, Nicola said the youngest Featherington kid can expect some consequences in season two.
She told Radio Times: “I think you know, she’s definitely lied to literally everyone in her life and I think you’ll see the consequences of that and I think you’ll see.” she’s not – I always say it’s like a five-year Britney Spears, she’s ‘not a girl, not a woman yet’.
“She’s definitely matured from series one. And I think she thinks she’s a woman of the world a lot more than she really is.”

She will return for the show’s second season and will reprise her role as Lady Danbury. On British television, she is known for her role as Francine Jones in Doctor Who and her roles in Law and Order: UK, Broadchurch, Line of Duty and Silent Witness.
