Sian Williams has spent more than two decades as a three-channel news anchor but has announced she’s leaving live news after earning a PhD in Psychology and is ‘in need elsewhere’

Presenter Dr. Sian Williams will be leaving his post of daily radio leadership to pursue other passions.
Dr Sian has been a familiar face on news networks as a journalist for the past 35 years with BBC, ITN and the past six years at 5 News.
Last year, she earned her PhD in Psychology, she will still be on the show for her weekly mental health segment but will wave goodbye to the news that made her name in the past two decades.
She will also continue to work with Channel 5 and ITN on special projects and documentaries.

The past six years have been an amazing experience and I feel very grateful to everyone who made it happen. “
Sian was commended by the Director of Content, Ben Frow, for her professionalism, especially through the Covid-19 pandemic that has seen her deliver daily broadcasts from her own home. me.

Writing a post on her Twitter, she wrote: “Feels weird to dip into your timeline, but a little bit of personal news. After more than 6 years, I decided to leave @5News in the spring. ”
She signed off the post and added: “I think I need to be elsewhere.”
In over six years on the channel, Sian has worked on a number of series including Secrets of Your Supermarket Food and on 5 News which has compiled news specials on pandemic, Brexit, Weddings Royal, UK and US elections include Donald Trump’s 2016 election and most recently the war in Ukraine.
Dr. Sian introduced a documentary series on 5 News called Healing Minds; and did his first TV interview with Prince Harry, where he talked about his mental health.
In addition to her devoted journalism career, Sian has spent 15 years training in psychology and is also a trauma specialist and has spent many years working with journalists covering traumatic events. . She also holds a Master’s degree in Psychology, specializing in Post-Traumatic Stress.
