Players put off by Sifu’s unrelenting difficulty can try the game again thanks to an easier difficulty setting coming next week. defeatDeveloper of the martial arts beat ’em up, has revealed the roadmap for Sifu for the remainder of 2022.
The first major update for the game, coming next Tuesday, May 3rd, will include expanded training, outfit choices, and most importantly, difficulty options. The three options are Student, Disciple, and Master, with Student presumably offering an easier path for players who want to experience the world, combat, and story without the brutal learning curve. On the other hand, players looking to challenge themselves can look forward to Master difficulty.

The spring update is just the first of four planned content drops for Sifu this year. New gameplay modifiers will be added to Sifu this summer, including stronger enemies, a one-health challenge, a way to instantly unlock all abilities, and more. The fall update brings a replay editor and the winter update adds a new arena game mode.
Sifu is an unforgivingly brutal martial arts beat ’em up that released on PlayStation in February. We called the game “amazing” in our Sifu review.
“On the other side of that vicious learning curve, however, is one of the most impressive beat ’em ups I’ve ever played, with excellent level design, fantastic music, and – when it’s all over – a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction that few other video games offer.” be able.”
It also made it onto our list of top rated games of 2022 so far.
