Sigma Homes begins work on the development of Haywards Heath

Sigma Homes has commenced construction on the 3 acre lot at Rogers Farm, Fox Hill, Haywards Heaths which will consist of 19 homes and one apartment.

The development, named Spring Bank, which will include a 30 percent affordable housing allocation, will consist of 13 three-bedroom homes, three four-bedroom homes, three two-bedroom homes and one one-bedroom apartment.

The first apartments will be ready for occupancy in the course of 2023.

Geoff Potton, Managing Director of Sigma Homes, said: “We have spent two years planning and carefully preparing this project and we are thrilled to be on site to break the groundwork.

“Our plans will provide a mature landscape setting from day one, preserving the historic field patterns and forested character of the area. This landscape-oriented design approach will ensure that a sensitive transition between the outskirts and the wider rural area to the south can be successfully established.”

Sigma Homes’ new detached and semi-detached homes will have private gardens and parking and all homes will be fitted with eco-friendly air source heat pumps, electric car charging points and a high level of insulation to achieve an EPC-A or high B rating.

The development was designed to provide “safe and convenient” routes for walking and cycling to integrate with existing networks.

Within the site, the layout will be designed to encourage low vehicle speeds and prioritize the needs of pedestrians and cyclists.

Forests, hedgerows and areas of thick scrub will be preserved and enhanced to provide habitats suitable for a range of protected species including nesting birds, bats, dormouse and reptiles.
