Prince William and Harry: Omid Scobie talks about relationship

At the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations this weekend, Prince William could reunite with his younger brother Prince Harry.

The rift between the couples has only grown worse since Harry quit as a senior working royal with wife Meghan Markle and moved to the United States.

The brother’s frosty relationship was reportedly sparked by Williams’ concerns about Harry’s rapidly evolving relationship with Meghan ahead of their royal wedding in 2018.

The tense argument quickly boiled over – when, during a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, Harry claimed his brother had been “trapped” in the royal system.

Since leaving the UK in early 2020, Harry has only seen his brother twice – at Prince Philip’s funeral and at the unveiling of a statue of their late mother Princess Diana.

However, reports from this weekend suggest the brothers may be interested in getting their relationship back on track. So what are the signs that show this could be a possibility?

FaceTime calls

The biggest sign yet that the brothers are ready to bury the hatchet has been revealed by the Sunday People.

It has been reported that William and Harry are healing their feud with weekly online messages and face-to-face video chats.

The brothers write to each other on WhatsApp every few days – and also regularly call their children via FaceTime.

But wives Meghan and Kate, both 40, have so far kept back from screen contact, giving their husbands time to mend their relationship one-on-one.

William wants to continue

Meanwhile, the same Sunday People report says William was disappointed at the abrupt manner in which Harry and Meghan left the royal family and moved to California – but that he has now moved on.

A source said: “The brothers needed time to settle down. The family, including William, were disappointed with the way Harry and Meghan decided to leave the royal family.

“But now there’s a strong feeling that what happened is in the past and that they’ve moved on.

“William sees that Meghan is a good mother and a devoted wife and is really happy for his brother.”

Another sign that Harry is also interested in repairing their relationship is his decision to come to the UK with Meghan and their children Archie and Lilibet for the anniversary celebrations later this week.

The family of four is due to arrive in the UK very soon and William could be meeting his niece Lilibet for the first time over the weekend.

It could be argued that Harry wouldn’t want to come to the UK for the anniversary if relations between the two brothers were so bad.

Though their relationship is reportedly rocky, William still seems to speak affectionately of his younger brother.

While William and Kate were in Belize on their Caribbean tour in March, William was reportedly asked about Harry’s previous trip to the country in 2012 – when he also showed off his dance moves.

Cynthia Ellis-Topsy, Ambassador for the Garifuna Nation, said Magazine PEOPLE : “That’s what I said to William [his brother] Prince Harry came to Belize, he danced and needed no encouragement. He’s a wild card.

“William laughed and said, ‘Harry’s not embarrassed’.”

Kate’s secret message?

Meanwhile, not only may William and Harry be showing signs of a truce, but Kate has also sent a secret sign that she’s keen for the brothers to put their differences aside.

Last week she wore a beautiful mint green dress with a hat of a matching color to a garden party at Buckingham Palace.

And some royals fans are convinced the hat was a direct homage to Harry and Meghan, as she wore an almost identical hat, just in a different colour, to the couple’s wedding four years ago.
