Talent show ace Simon Cowell says he’s far from X-hausted – and will never leave showbiz.
The Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor creator hit back at speculation he’s ending his TV career due to burnout.
Despite juggling film projects while appearing on BGT and the US version of the show, Simon, 62, says he loves it too much to just retire.
He said: “We’re all thinking about it, of course. But then again, what should I do? Ever since I started work, I’ve tried not to have a schedule.
“It’s always been like, ‘If you have a good idea and you believe in it, just try to make it work’.”
And he joked: “You misrepresented my age. I’m actually 43.”
Nicknamed Mr. Nasty for his harsh judgmental style, Simon is currently working on a children’s television series called Wishfits.
It is based on the hybrid animal books he created with his eight-year-old son Eric.
He said, “It’s the only thing I’ve never done … and I think it will work.”
Over the past two decades, Simon has appeared on AGT, The X Factor and American Idol – the top three most-watched entertainment shows in the United States. But he was originally written off as a boy.
Speaking to US show Extra TV, Simon said: “I was so terrible at school.
“All my teachers said I’ll be terrible if I go to work. My mum and dad would have been so proud.”
