Simon Cowell stuck to the diet in Covid quarantine

Simon Cowell has opened up about his incredible body transformation, which saw him lose inches from his waist while revealing his top diet secrets to staying in shape and looking slim.

Britain’s Got Talent judge lost four inches from his waist after going on a health kick ahead of the coronavirus pandemic – and then managing to stick to it during lockdowns and quarantines.

After seeing photos of himself looking a little stockier four years ago, the music mogul has vowed to go without sugar, dairy or gluten forever – forever.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge said: “Cutting out all that really made a difference.

“Ironically, as a sport, I was riding my bike. I rode 10 or 11 miles every day.

“Even though it’s an electric bike, I would turn it off until I need it. It’s the best way to train because it’s fun.

“It’s a combination of all that stuff. It gives you energy and makes you feel better.

“I looked at a picture of me four years ago and I was like, ‘Oh god.’

“The diet I was on then… phew. And everyone thinks I have a gastric band – I don’t.”

David Walliams couldn’t resist teasing Simon about the ‘surgery’ this week.

The Little Britain comedian and children’s author said: “You paid your double for plastic surgery and also for a gastric band.”

Simon replied, “I didn’t have a gastric band.”

David added: “I’m not saying you have, you’ve obviously lost weight naturally – but the person who is Simon’s double needs it to shed a little bit of weight.

“Simon looks very good. He looks younger and younger every year, I don’t know how he does it.”

Simon explained, “It’s about working out and eating well, David.”

Simon, who shares 8-year-old son Eric with fiancé Lauren Silverman, has denied he had undergone weight-loss surgery.

He recently admitted that he treats himself to a very retro meal before going out for dinner.

The music mogul confessed that he eats a plate of beans on toast before going out to dinner with Lauren.

He said he does it because he knows he’s not going to like anything on the menu.

“I’m not a big eater. I don’t enjoy it that much. I’d rather have a beer than eat, any day of the week,” he told The Sun.

“Sometimes when we go out to dinner, because I know I’m going to hate the food, I’ll bake beans on toast before leaving and then don’t eat,” Simon said.

The X Factor creator said he hates going to weddings or parties “where the food is awful” and would much rather stay at home.

*The fifteenth series of Britain’s Got Talent starts on Saturday 16 April at 20:00 and continues on Sunday 17 April at 19:35 on ITV.
