Singer Tom Grennan says he’s recovering from a ruptured eardrum after being attacked outside a New York bar

Tom Grennan has thanked his fans for their “incredible” support after he was attacked outside a Manhattan bar on Wednesday.
The singer, 26, is recovering from a ruptured eardrum that he sustained during the robbery that took place the night after his concert in New York.
His manager John Dawkins released a statement on Thursday detailing the “unprovoked attack” and announcing that his upcoming Washington DC show would be postponed to allow him to recover.
In a video posted to Twitter on Friday, the Little Bit of Love star told fans he was on medication but was in a good mood.
He said: “Just thought I’d come down here and let you know I’m fine and the support I’ve seen is incredible and very overwhelming and I can’t believe it, so thank you very much.
“Those 24 hours were crazy. It was a little crazy to be honest. But I thought I’d come here and let you know what actually happened. It was just the wrong place, the wrong time. And I got hit, knocked out, and I woke up and I was like, ‘Woah, what’s going on?’.
“I have a ruptured eardrum. Luckily my jaw is fine. I have a mild concussion, but I’m on medication at the moment, so it kind of eases the pain. I filed the police report and the NYPD was great, they were brilliant. Wrong place, wrong time. But only a crazy 24 hours.”
Grennan said his US fans were his “main priority” and he didn’t want to let anyone down, so he decided to continue his tour.
The Bedford-born singer has been nominated for two awards at the Brits 2022 – British Song of the Year for Little Bit of Love and Best Rock/Alternative Act.
