Sir Ian McKellen says intimate moderators can ruin theater’s ‘purity’

Sir Ian McKellen says having intimate coordinators trained on set can affect the “purity” of theatrical productions.

“But why can’t the director do it? Why does it have to be someone who has been trained in how to do it?

He went on to say that he prefers the “pure” of a production process where “as few people get in the way as possible.”
It follows comments by Sir Ian’s Lord Of The Rings co-star Sean Bean, who said intimate professionals can “damage the spontaneity” of sex scenes, which have been criticized by female members of the industry criticized.
