SIX people have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man at a holiday park.
The “argument” happened at Parkdean Resorts on Lydd Road, Camber Sands, near Rye last night.
Emergency services were called just before 11pm, but a 58-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene just after midnight.
Police and forensic teams were at the resort last night and remain today.
The incident happened at The Showbar, the resort’s entertainment site, which was showing the Premier League opening game as Arsenal played Crystal Palace.
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: “Police have arrested six people on suspicion of murder following the death of a man at a holiday park on Lydd Road, Camber Sands, in the early hours of August 6.
“Emergency services were called around 10.50pm on Friday 5 August to receive reports of an altercation involving a group of people.
“Despite the best efforts of paramedics, a 58-year-old man was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene shortly after midnight. His next of kin have been informed.
“Six people have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently in custody.”
A £100 refund was offered to guests of the park as some services were unavailable based on research on the website.
Parkdean’s message added that his team “will be in touch to advise you on whether these events can go ahead.”
Detective Superintendent Jon Hull said: “Our investigation is at a very early stage but I would like to reassure the public that this appears to be an isolated incident with no major risk of harm.
“Officials are now working to establish the full circumstances, while the victim’s relatives are being assisted by specialized officers.”
