Sky Sports issued an apology after Tiger Woods vowed during the broadcast of his epic return at Thursday’s Masters.
Woods makes one hardly believable performance in Augusta, just 14 months after his horrific car accident outside of Los Angeles. The accident resulted in the 46-year-old suffering a broken leg and undergoing extensive rehabilitation to recover.
His return to the Masters was unbelievable to witness – but after bogeying on the eighth hole, frustration began to build within the 15-time major champion. Woods was vocal in his frustration after a poor second shot on the ninth, a par 4.
Wood’s drive shot sent him into the trees after originally flipping his try to the left. He wasn’t too happy with his second shot either, which landed on the green and appeared to be good before rolling back onto the fairway.
Woods was visibly upset with his efforts when the five-time champion uttered “F*** off” after watching his ball twirl off the green. Sky Sports commentator Andrew Coltart had to react quickly and apologize for Woods’ language.
“Sorry if you heard any inappropriate language there,” Coltart told viewers. “He got caught by the wind. When he said, “Go there,” he meant put it on this shelf. When it didn’t, he was surprised and the frustration boiled over.”
Woods chipped onto the green but flipped and faced a 10-foot putt to save par. He kept the nerve to sink the putt to end the front nine in style.

Woods started steadily into his first round at a PGA event since the 2020 Masters, coming through the first five holes to par level. He sank a dramatic putt on the 16th to deliver the tournament’s first punch of the tournament for Woods, and he held on to his sensational -1 finish for the day.
Augusta National is widely regarded as one of the toughest venues in the United States, which is why securing the coveted green jacket is considered such an impressive feat. It’s all the more impressive that Woods has chosen to return in such a challenging place.
