Sky TV customers are currently implementing an ingenious time-saving remote control hack

SKY TV users don’t need two controllers thanks to an amazing hack that some are just realizing exists.
It turns out that the Sky remote control can not only be used to adjust the TV volume.
It can also turn your TV on and off.
This means you no longer have to worry about the TV’s own remote control – apart from the less occasional nitpicking.
And best of all: It’s very easy.
It works with Sky Q and Sky Stream.
Given that Sky Glass integrates Sky into a TV, it should come as no surprise that you can use the Sky remote to turn off the TV.
How to get your Sky remote to turn off your TV
To have your Sky remote turn your TV on or off, all you have to do is hold down the power button for a few seconds longer than usual.
If this doesn’t work, it means your TV and Sky aren’t paired with HDMI Control.
But you can set it up.
On Sky Q, just go to Settings and then Remote.
Select Sky Q Touch Remote and scroll down to control your TV.
For Sky Stream, go to Settings and then Connected devices.
Press the Sky remote control and then control your TV.
Follow the on-screen instructions to pair the two.
Most modern TVs should work.
Once that’s done, you can control the volume and turn your TV on and off with the Sky remote.
