Skyrim is getting its second release on Nintendo Switch – and fans are upset about the price hike

NINTENDO just announced that a new version of Skyrim is coming to the Switch, and players who want the full package will have to pay again.

It’s been 11 years since Skyrim was first released, and we’ve long lost count of how many versions there are.

There are three different editions for PC, one for each of the last three generations of consoles, and if you want to play on Amazon Alexa there’s even a version for that.

Developer Bethesda has struck gold with the release of Skyrim and has shown no signs of slowing down with new version releases.

The truth is, fans keep buying it and paying for the latest version over and over again.

This time it’s the turn of the Nintendo Switch to get an additional Skyrim release.

Skyrim Anniversary Edition is coming to consoles and promises “new quests, enemies, weapons, and more awaiting you in Tamriel.”

Luckily, the original Skyrim release for Nintendo Switch included the Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn expansions.

However, those who want all Skyrim content in one place will have to pay for the upgrade again.

The Nintendo Switch version includes some exclusive content from The Legend of Zelda.

This also includes compatibility with The Legend of Zelda amiibo – sold separately, of course.

Skyrim Anniversary Edition is available now through the Nintendo E-Shop for £59.99 ($69.99) if you’re looking to buy Skyrim again.

However, there is a saving grace for those who have already bought the game.

UK players can upgrade to the Anniversary Edition for £17.99 if they already own the base game.

However, buying the two separately is even more expensive.

The original 2017 Nintendo Switch release was just £10 cheaper than the anniversary edition.

Those who hesitated to pick it up can get a better deal if they purchase the Anniversary Edition Pack.

Or you could wait for the inevitable third Skyrim release of the Nintendo Switch…
