POKEMON Sleep has been a MIA since 2019 but it looks like it might be about to make a comeback.
Pokemon Sleep is one of four Pokemon projects announced in 2019, along with Pokemon Go Plus, Pokemon Home, and Detective Pikachu for the Nintendo Switch.
There’s been no word on the app since then, but data researchers sifting through the latest Pokemon Go update have given fans hope that it’s still on the rise.
A group Pokemon Go Data Checker on Twitter found Pokemon Sleep related code.
There’s what they believe is the codename for the Pokemon Go Plus+ device for the sleep tracking app.
At night, you place it next to your pillow to track your sleep time, and the data is sent to your smartphone via Bluetooth.
They have also speculated on how Pokemon Sleep will work with Pokemon Go based on their findings.
Just like Pokemon Go rewards players for being active, Pokemon Sleep rewards you for having a good night’s sleep.
Those aren’t the only clues that lead fans to believe the app is still on the rise.
In April last year, Twitter user @Pokekalos discovered that the official Pokemon Company Japanese website has added an SSL certificate for a small site for the app.
Maybe the pandemic affected the project or there were obstacles with hardware functionality.
Of course, the code doesn’t guarantee anything, but it’s enough to keep fans hopeful for now.
