Sligo Rovers sign Aiden Keena from Falkirk ahead of new Irish League season

SLIGO ROVERS has captured striker Aiden Keena.
The Mullingar Man will join from Falkirk on a permanent deal to try to fill the void left by Johnny Kenny leaving Celtic.
Kenny joined the Bhoys earlier this month for €150,000 after an impressive first season for Bit O’ Red.
Defender John Mahon have also moved to Scotland, completing the move to St Johnstone on Sunday.
But it wasn’t all one-way traffic when former Shelbourne and St Pat’s Keena moved into The Showgrounds.
The 22-year-old made his senior debut under Sligo director Liam Buckley for St Pat’s in 2017 before moving to Hearts that summer.
The former Ireland Under-21 international has scored five goals in 27 appearances for the Edinburgh club and has also been on loan with Queen’s Park and Dunfermline Athletic.
Two years ago, he joined Hartlepool United, where he had made a promising start before Covid-19 saw their season scrapped.

He joined Falkirk on a two-year deal in August 2022 but has now opted to reunite with Buckley.
Falkirk paved the way for Keena by loaning former Cobh Ramblers player and Shelbourne striker Jaze Kabia from Livingston.
