Organizers have announced rock and metal giants Slipknot, Bring Me The Horizon and Metallica will be making headlines for the Download festival’s 20th anniversary.
The 2023 festival will feature four sets of titles for the first time, when it returns to Donington Park, in Leicestershire, in June.
Metallica will deliver two “no-repeat” performances on Thursday and Saturday, with BMTH taking the headlines on Friday and Slipknot on Saturday.
The three bands will feature over 60 other UK and international heavyweights including Evanescence, Parkway Drive, Disturbed, Pendulum, Asking Alexandria and more.
Metallica will return to the festival after more than a decade has passed and says it is “a next level honor” to be invited back to Donington Park’s “sacred grounds”.
“The Download Festival was one of the first I attended as a playboy,” said Oli Sykes, head of Bring Me The Horizon.
“It was our first great festival experience playing as a band, and now the fact that we are bringing attention to such a prestigious event has blown my mind. I.
“We can’t wait to bring a whole new performance and sound to the Download audience.”

“We really wanted to prepare in advance for this special anniversary, one more day for fans to experience an unforgettable lineup that once again brings together unparalleled talent from the world of rock back to Donington Park. .”

General tickets for the Download Festival will go on sale online at 10am on Thursday, November 10.
