Parents will know that establishing a routine for their children is key — no one wants a teacher telling them their child could barely stay awake in a lesson.
However, there may be some exceptions to the rules on weekends and special occasions.
However, one mother didn’t believe it, angry that her eight-year-old daughter stayed up until 4:30 am on a sleepover at her school friend’s house.
She was so annoyed that she accepted it mom net asking others what they think.
She wrote: “I was just picking up my eight year old daughter from the school house from a sleepover at her friends house and it turned out that she and her friend were up until 4.30am.
“The mother came into the room and said it was time to calm down and go to sleep…at 4:30!

“I’m really unhappy, in what world do you let eight-year-old girls stay up unaccompanied until this point, if I may add, while the mother was in her bed, ok?
“12am – fair enough, maybe 1am right off the bat if I’m excited, but 4:30am is ridiculous and my daughter is done.
“I don’t know if I should write to my mother. She will definitely not go back to stay there again. Am I unreasonable?
Other parents were confused as to why the mother took it so seriously if it was a one off thing.
One wrote: “Have you ever been to someone’s house when you were 8? This is completely normal when you are 8 years old and excited.
“The mother could have told them to cancel every hour after 11pm and it wouldn’t have made a difference.”
Another agreed: “Yes perfectly normal you are being unreasonable sorry! We have done overnight stays and they always take the p**sa bit, it’s just a part and package.
“My nine-year-old fell asleep in the afternoon after several nights of sleep. A night without sleep will not hurt her, they will catch up! Early tonight if she lasts that long, and she’ll be absolutely fine.”
“Oh, that’s no big deal. It was a one time thing. Stop overreacting. Your daughter was probably having tons of fun and even staying up past her bedtime. Don’t be a funny sponge,” quipped one mom.
