Rebellion announced on Twitter that Sniper Elite 5 will launch on May 26. It will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch, and will also receive a release on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series and One. and PC.

Sniper Elite 5 is set in France, in 1944, with the player participating in a US military campaign along the coast of Brittany. It featured a secret Nazi project called Operation Kraken that threatened to end World War II in Allied defeat.

Rebellion promises advanced gunplay physics and mobility, in-depth customization, advanced kill cams, and multiple multiplayer modes including an “invade” option where players can secretly enter the game of other users and hunt them down.

Sniper Elite 5 was announced in 2019 alongside three other Sniper Elite titles but will be the first all-new mainline in over five years.

Rebellion hasn’t shown much of the game’s content so far, but has released gameplay trailers, cinematic trailers, and now its release date has revealed trailers.

In our 8/10 review of Sniper Elite 4, IGN said: “A lot of games welcome the ability to ‘play the way you want’, but [this game’s] tasks and mechanisms are indeed powerful enough to back up that claim. Picking up a Nazi war machine piece by piece, using whatever plan was in mind, was an explosion. “
