A post on Snootie Wild’s verified Instagram account announced the sad news that the rapper has passed away. The update comes just hours after the rapper’s team said he was ‘fighting for his life’ following an alleged shooting.

Rapper Snootie Wild has died after being shot in the neck.

A post on the star’s verified Instagram account appeared to confirm the sad news on Saturday night.

Captioning the late musician’s photo, the text reads: “My body is dead but my NAME & LAW will live forever! [blue love heart emoji] # TeamYayo4Life [100 emoji]. “

The sad news comes just hours after it was reported the rapper was ‘fighting for his life’ following a shooting incident on Friday.

According to reports in the US, the 36-year-old rapper was found in his SUV, under a ditch in Houston, Texas on Friday.

The star is thought to have been shot in the neck but according to his team, did not die at the scene.

ABC13 reported that a statement on Snootie’s social media read: “Snootie is not DIE! But he is fighting for his life.

“Out of respect for the family, please refrain from sharing anything that is not communicated through his official accounts. Thank you.”

It is reported that police rushed to the scene after they were alerted by the Shotspotter Program that a shot had been fired.

The rapper – whose real name is LePreston Porter – is believed to have been given CPR at the scene before being taken to hospital, authorities have revealed.

Officer R. Willkens said of the incident: “It looks like he accidentally backed into it (the ditch). Then another car sped up and everyone got out of the car.

“They were talking for a bit, and all of a sudden, gunshots went off. There was actually only one shot.”

The alleged incident appears to have been caught on camera by a neighbor, who is said to be helping investigators answer their questions.

The medical treatment of the star before his death gave singer Yayo a 50/50 chance of survival.

Shortly after the late rapper’s team announced his passing on Saturday night, many fans paid their respects to the Memphis-born star.

“This is crazy. I’ve really been following this punk career since the beginning. Now witnessing this is shocking and sad. RIP,” one Instagram follower commented below the update. sadly.

Another added: “My heart is broken I can’t believe you left us, we’ve been waiting for your big day cuz! I’m so hurt after this!”

“RIP Snootie Wild. Yayo is a celebrity and Yo Gotti really believes in him,” Eric Diep wrote on Twitter shortly after the news was announced.

The late rapper is known for his first single, Yayo, which successfully launched his career.

Snootie continued to tour with Yo Gotti, as well as collaborating with other big-name artists such as French Montana and Fabolous.

He is said to be a father of four children.
