Social media stars Halal Ham and Salt Papi have lost a combined 45 pounds to get in shape for their boxing match in London tonight.
Known for their hilarious videos on YouTube and Tik Tok, the pair agreed to fight Alex Wassabi on the undercard of Deji’s boxing return tonight.
They appear to have taken their training seriously, with Halal Ham, whose real name is Hamad Khan, having lost a whopping 33 pounds and Salt Papi over 11 pounds prior to their meeting.
Both joked about their physiques leading up to the fight, although Papi generally opted to allow his trainer to speak for him at media appearances.
And Khan has said he battled depression after working his way back into the YouTube boxing scene after a contract dispute with a major record label kept him from the post.
“I lost 15 kg here,” he said mirror fight before the fight. “I was 110kg before I started and now I’m 95.”
He was last seen on the big stage winning his fight on the undercard KSI vs. Logan Paul against fellow social media star Jrizzy Jeremy.
But he signed to a major label for his music, which told him not to post on social media without their approval, leading to his career taking off.
“One of the main reasons I’m doing this fight is because after my last fight I got signed to a major record label and they wouldn’t really let me post,” he explained.
“I haven’t been able to be active but over the last year I’ve paid back the label, I’m out now, a free agent so I need to rebuild my YouTube and get back into the hype.”
And Khan admits the battle for his career has cost him dearly in terms of his mental health, saying he considered suicide at his lowest point.

Ultimately, boxing practice helped him get into better headspace and he’s hoping it will be enough to give him a second big win.
“These last few months have been the darkest moments of my life,” he said. “I was driving my Rolls Royce and there were times I just wanted to crash it.
“But through this training, that took me away from that and I’m in a very good place now.
“I’m ready, before the training camp he would have smoked me, but now the training is there, there was blood sweat and tears, the cardio is ready and I will win.”
