Sofia Reyes ”1,2,3” goes Viral on TikTok – Billboard

An explosion from the past! “1,2, 3” by Sofia Reyes released in 2018, is the latest song to go viral on TikTok.

The rhythm track, which features Jason Derulo and De La Ghetto, is now popping up on social media after part of its audio was played on TikTok. Currently, the phrase “Hola, comment allez, allez-vous… Nice to meet you” has more than five million creative videos. “1, 2, 3” also entered the Billboard Global 200 Excl. The US chart (July 16) is at number 174. In addition, on Instagram Reels, the sound has been user-generated more than 600.00 times.

It’s unclear when the audio went viral on TikTok, but even the Mexican singer-songwriter was surprised by its resurgence. She took to social media with Nicole Zignago, the song’s co-writer, to share how the song came about. The couple wrote the original English song in Spanish in 2016.

“When we started writing it at the time, we loved it but never imagined that what’s happening with the song is happening now,” Reyes says in the video. “Suddenly, Jason and De La Ghetto jumped on the track. And we are shocked at the number of locations around the world it has reached. This song changed our lives,” added Zignago.

Given its recent popularity on social media platforms, the couple asked their millions of followers if they would like a Spanish version of the song, most of which said yes. with the idea and even suggested that Reyes and Zignago record the Spanish version together.

The song is also on Reyes’ most recent album, Mal De Amores, was released earlier this year. The series – featuring collaborations with other artists such as Pedro Capó, María Becerra and The Change – peaked at #15 on BillboardsLatin Pop Albums Chart (February 26).
