Son arrested after cops discovered his mother’s dismembered body in a rubbish bin

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office has said it is investigating Tomoko’s death as a homicide, but prosecutors have not released details of the charges

A 25-year-old man has been arrested after his mother’s dismembered body was found in a dumpster at a California apartment complex.
On Saturday, the suspect, David M. Hoetzlein, was taken into custody by the Ventura County Sheriff in connection with his mother’s death.
That VC star reported that Hoetzlein was arrested a day after local authorities found the dismembered body of his mother, 62-year-old Tomoko Hoetzlein.
Tomoko’s body was found by law enforcement on Friday morning after reports of human remains were received at the complex.
Hoetzlein has been identified by authorities as a suspect in the death of his mother in the city of Camarillo.

Since his arrest, Hoetzlein has been held in the Ventura County Jail on $3 million bail, according to VC Star.
On Saturday evening, the nature of the criminal charges against Hoetzlein was still unclear.
The 25-year-old will appear in court on Tuesday.

This isn’t the first time this year that a son has been arrested following the death of a parent in Ventura County.

So far, five homicides have been registered there in 2021.
Corresponding the VC star, Three of the murders being investigated by the sheriff’s office involve male children who murder their parents.
Tuesday’s hearing will mark Hoetzlein’s first court appearance on the case.
The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office is pursuing the case.
