Sonic team boss Takashi Iizuka says 2022 was “the greatest year in Sonic history”.

Sonic team boss Takashi Iizuka says 2022 was “the greatest year in Sonic history” for fans of the blue blur.
But Iizuka wasn’t just referring to the game’s cinematic sequel, the Netflix show, and Sonic Origins and Sonic Frontiers – all of which were discontinued in 2022, of course – but also teased that “there’s a lot more to come beyond that.”
“Last year was the biggest year in Sonic history, including the release of the film’s sequel, new titles Sonic Origins and Sonic Frontiers, and Netflix animation Sonic Prime,” said Sonic Team’s Iizuka Famitsu (Many Thanks, gematsu and Nintendo life).
“We are preparing a second wave to keep fans happy and to maintain this momentum through 2023. We’ve already announced additional content for Sonic Frontiers, but there’s a lot more to come, so please look forward to it.”
In other Blue Blur News, the details of five unannounced Sonic the Hedgehog Lego sets have surfaced online.
