Sony music publisher (SMP) has promoted Thomas Krottinger to Vice President, Creative.
Based in the company’s Los Angeles office, Krottinger is responsible for overseeing US/international songwriter relations and promoting collaboration across the company’s global roster.
SMP says he will continue to support creative development and discovery initiatives.
During his time with the company, Krottinger has worked with songwriters and producers such as BURNS, who recently served as co-writer and producer rain on me by Lady Gaga; Plested, who took notes Before you go by Lewis Capaldi; and Fran Hall, who recently co-wrote the viral hit Fingers crossed by Lauren Spencer Smith.
Krottinger also helped sign Salem Ilese, known for her recent hit Mad at Disneyand Elie Rizk, who was a co-author build a bitch and inferno by Bella Poarch next to Ilese.
For the past two years, Krottinger has worked closely with global superstar Olivia Rodrigo, who signed with SMP in summer 2021.
Rodrigo, who achieved chart success with her debut album ANGRYis nominated for seven Grammy Awards including Best New Artist, Album of the Year and Song of the Year.

Krottinger first joined SMP in 2017 as Senior Manager of International A&R and was later promoted to Director of A&R.
Prior to Sony Music Publishing, he worked at Prescription Songs where he co-signed FRENSHIP and later became the A&R manager. He started his career in industry at CAA in the music department.
Incidentally, the company is moving to Sony Music Publishing recently discontinued Walter Jones as Executive Vice President, Head of A&R.
Jones, who joined SMP last month, is based out of SMP’s Los Angeles office and reports to Sony Music Publishing Chairman and CEO Jon Platt.music business worldwide
