Sopranos star dies as friends like Francis Ford Coppola are ‘devastated’ by loss

THE Sopranos star Peter Bogdanovich has died aged 82 and friends are mourning his passing.

Peter’s daughter, Antonia Bogdanovich, confirmed the tragic news with The Hollywood Reporter.

Francis Ford Coppola, director of the Godfather films, issued a statement to Limit line: “Oh my, what a shock. I’m devastated. He’s such a great and great artist. I’ll never forget attending a premiere for The Last Picture Show.”

He continued: “I remember at the end, the audience jumped around me and burst into a round of applause that lasted for 15 minutes easily.

“I’ll never forget, though I feel like I’ve never experienced such a reaction myself, that Peter and his film deserved it.”

Pope Francis concluded: “May he rest in eternal happiness, enjoying the thrill of our applause forever.”

Peter has directed films such as Paper Moon, The Last Picture Show, and At Long Last Love.

In addition to his daughter, the late filmmaker is survived by his grandchildren Maceo, Levi and Wyatt.

HIGH WOMAN VOICES

In The Sopranos, the late actor/director plays Elliot Kupferberg.

In the HBO drama, Elliot tries to convince Dr. Melfi that she should refer her patient Tony Soprano to another colleague because he is a gang boss.

Elliot met Dr. Melfi because he was her therapist.

His last episode in the crime drama was in the episode, The Blue Comet, in the sixth season.

PRIOR WORKS

Peter wrote, directed, and appeared in a starring role in his first feature film, Targets, starring Boris Karloff.

When not working in front or behind the camera, the film critic has written books like Who the Hell’s in It: Conversations with Hollywood’s Legendary Actors and This is Orson Welles.
