Soul singer Toshín headlining Rock Against Homelessness concert in Dundalk

Soul singer Toshín is delighted to be returning to Dundalk tomorrow night for a special charity show.
I’m delighted to be back in my hometown, but I’m even more thrilled to be playing a show for an amazing charity that’s close to my heart,” she said on the Spirit Store of the Sunday Independent’s Rock Against Homelessness benefit Focus Ireland in Dunalk.
The acclaimed Nigerian singer (and a favorite of Foster and Allen, who recorded a documentary with her for RTE) is joined by Armagh singer-songwriter Odhran Murphy.
“I’m glad all the proceeds are going to Focus Ireland as I myself was homeless for four months a few years ago. It’s also great to play this gig in a city where music really started for me. I performed and won talent competitions in Dundalk.
“I played my very first gig when I was 15 in a small café in the heart of the city. I’ve been on a number of productions and shows at City Hall, taken singing lessons and also sung for the Children’s Voices of Ireland choir which we practiced in every week at DKIT. All of these things have built me up for the career I’m in right now and I owe a lot to the city.”
Tickets €12.50, admission from 7 p.m.
