Trains have been delayed and canceled following a disruption caused by recent cold weather.
Passengers have been told that due to the freezing conditions, services are currently suspended across East Sussex.
The problems come after the power failure between Eastbourne and Hampden Park. The route is closed, which means that no trains can leave the station.
An update on the Southern Rail website reads: “Southern services to and from Eastbourne have been suspended.
“Due to ice preventing trains from getting power from the third rail between Lewes and Seaford, Eastbourne and Hastings, some lines are currently closed. As a result, trains traveling to and from these stations may be canceled or delayed.”
Southern Rail has warned passengers to expect delays of at least 90 minutes.
The line has now reopened but delays are still expected when services resume.
The cancellations have been attributed to the cold weather that has swept across East Sussex in recent days.
Line problems were first reported at 7:12 am on Sunday 11 December.
Passengers are advised to make alternative travel arrangements, including the use of buses and taxis.
