Splatoon 3 is coming to Switch on September 9th

The Inklings will return later this summer when Nintendo releases turn 3.

On September 9th, visit the Splatlands desert and engage in inky battles with other squid and octolings. You’ll also discover new features, weapons like the Stringer, a new bow-shaped weapon type, and new equipment.

In the game, you’ll engage in 4v4 turf wars in a mix of new and returning stages. Here, teams of four compete against each other on stages such as Eeltail Alley.

In addition to multiplayer matches, the game also features a single player campaign and the next iteration of the cooperative Salmon Run mode. In the single player story mode, join Agent 3 in a battle against the Octarians and uncover the mysteries of a mysterious place called Alterna and the Fuzzy Ooze. In Salmon Run, you team up with teammates to battle waves of Salmonid bosses, some of which are quite large.

Starting today, active members can purchase the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion DLC on the Nintendo Switch system at no additional cost. Previously sold separately, this single-player expansion for Splatoon 2 is yours to keep as long as you have a paid membership.

In the Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion DLC, you play as Agent 8, an Octoling traveling through an underground testing facility. The DLC features 80 missions and challenges that you won’t find in the main game.

Splatoon 3 is available to pre-order now from select retailers, My Nintendo Store and Nintendo eShop for $59.99 or local equivalent. Splatoon 3 is coming to Switch on September 9th
