Sports Story is coming to Nintendo Switch as an early Christmas gift

Sports Story dropped out of nowhere as an early Christmas gift for fans.

Sports Story is the sequel to 2017’s Golf Story, a game that introduced RPG elements into a golf title to give the sporting formula a nice little twist. It’s been five years since Golf Story was released and news of a sequel came in 2019, but all news stopped after Sports Story saw a delay in the 2020 release. It would later get a release window after a new trailer was released in November with no set date.

However, it looks like the release window was accurate to an extent. Out of absolutely nowhere, Sports Story has a surprising drop on the Nintendo shopspotted by deal-knower Twitter account Wario64.

Sports Story follows the sidebar games created in Golf Story and allows players to play more sports than just golf. Be prepared to use various travel methods to explore dungeons and experience the mysterious wildlands, make lots of friends and foes, or kick back at the local mall to engage in smaller activities. The sports world is yours. For the golf fanatics, golf has not left the game as it is still present with eight unique golf courses to master.

As players complete activities, they rise in a Sporting rank that unlocks new sports like fishing, BMX, and volleyball. There’s plenty to explore as players will engage in a healthy mix of sports and RPG elements.
