MIKEL ARTETA has revealed the North London derby could be postponed as Arsenal do not have enough players for their clash with Spurs.
The Gunners, who were reduced to 10 men midway through the first half of the match against Liverpool when Granite Xhaka has been fired, brave earn yourself a goalless draw in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final at Anfield on Thursday night.
And Arteta’s team were also forced to deal with Cedric Soares and Eddie Nketiah being forced off the field for the first half hour.
Arsenal now have up to 11 players absent for their Premier League clash with Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.
And due to injury and illness, their squad could be reduced to just 12 players – putting the match in danger of being disqualified.
Speaking of that possibility after the Liverpool game, Arteta said: “It’s a possibility in every game.
“From our side, from the opponent’s side, because of the amount of problems people are having and because it’s happening every week.
“We try to prepare games because we think we’re going to play.
“If something happens along the way, that’s it.”
Arsenal are currently ranked 5th in the Premier League table, 2 points ahead of their great rival Spurs.
However, Antonio Conte’s men still have two games left – meaning the North London derby could prove important in the race for the top four.
Meanwhile, the Gunners bosses were thrilled with their team’s unyielding determination against Liverpool as they limited Jurgen Klopp’s men to just one shot on target.
The result now puts Arsenal in a strong position of returning to the Emirates for the second leg next Thursday.
“When you go to a stadium like this, I tell them you have to choose players who are happy to fight and fight,” added Arteta.

“You’re going to have tough moments when you’re suffering. It’s about how you approach those moments.
“If you’re willing to help your team, willing to accept that in some moments you’re not going to play the game you want, then good things will happen.
“When you play with that spirit, fighting and brotherhood around the team, you get rewarded eventually. That’s what happened.”
