Square Enix’s upcoming release, The DioField Chronicle, reviewed by ESRB

Earlier this March, Square Enix announced a new “deeply strategic RPG” by the name The DioField Chronicle – created by a team of experienced strategy developers at Lancarse Ltd. Set in a world of honor and political intrigue, players must guide their units through multiple combat encounters using a real-time tactical combat system.
It’s slated to arrive sometime this year, and now this upcoming Switch release has been rated by the ESRB in an update. The game received a “T” for Teen rating and contains gore, slightly salacious themes and violence. Here’s the full description, which also sheds some light on what else to expect from this upcoming release:
“This is an RPG where players control mercenaries fighting rival factions in a fantastical world. From a top-down perspective, players engage in tactical combat against human soldiers and fantastical creatures (e.g. giant wolves, dragons, the undead). . Players choose attack moves from a menu as their party members move around the battlefield; Characters use weapons, swords, and spells/energy beams to defeat enemies. Cutscenes show more instances of violence and blood: characters being impaled by swords; Soldiers fighting with swords/lances amid blood spatter; Still images of characters lying in pools of blood. In one story, a villain kidnaps village women and forces them to work in a brothel.”
