Squirdle is a Wordle clone that only the most hardened Pokemon fans have a chance to solve

SQUIRDLE is a Wordle-style puzzle game but only the most die-hard Pokemon fans will have a chance to solve it.

Software developer Sergio Morales Esquivel upped things with his own version of Pokemon-themed Wordle but it’s not for casual fans of the franchise.

Squirdle puts your pokemon knowledge to the ultimate test

Squirdle puts your pokemon knowledge to the ultimate test

Squirdle Challenge the player to guess a secret pokemon for eight turns, but the clues are not based on letters.

Instead, the grid is divided into generation, type, height, and weight.

Similar to Wordle, the correct answers are green, the wrong ones are red, and the matching pokemon in the wrong place are yellow.

The generation, height, and weight categories use arrows to indicate whether your next prediction needs to be higher or lower.

Unless you have an encyclopedic knowledge of pokemon, you will need to visit sites like Bulbapedia or Serebii for a chance to narrow it down.

Squirdle has both an infinite and daily version of the game, so you can still gloat on social media with your emoji grid when jailbreaking it.

There have been some teething issues, with some pokemon omitted, as well as a “strange entry” but the creator seems to have it under control.

With eight generations of pokemon to choose from, Squirdle will require you to dig deep into the depths of your own mind to solve it.

Although Wordle itself was not an original idea, its explosive popularity has spawned an army of clones, including Wheeldle – an ‘infinite’ version of Wordle.

It’s become so popular that deceptive versions of Wordle are popping up on the App store, so be on the lookout.

There is even a bit of controversy with Brits looking for a specific Wordle answer.

Squirdle is a unique spin on this format but it might be too hard for you if you’re not a pokemon fanatic.
