Stacey Solomon shares tough tongue fight

Stacey Solomon documented her struggle with her daughter Rose’s tongue tying when she returned to Loose Women.

The 32-year-old presenter made her full return to the ITV show’s panel for the first time in months after welcoming daughter Rose to the world from her and future husband Joe Swash in October.

And as she joined Kaye Adams, Judi Love and Nadia Sawalha on the panel, Stacey gave fans an update on her home birth, her baby Rose and her tongue tie struggles.

Speaking to her co-hosts, she said: “I can’t believe we get to hug right now! It’s been too long I missed you all so much.”

She also opened up about her struggles with Rose and how – after fighting her way with son Rex – she was determined to find out as soon as possible if Rose had the same problem.

“Ultimately, I just think some people in medicine don’t want to recognize it because then they have to budget for it. But I really think if people have the opportunity to know their baby has tongue ties, they should do it,” she said.

Nadia then added, “It just breaks my heart like a lot of people don’t even know.”

Stacey was over the moon to be back on Loose Women

Fans were over the moon to see Stacey back on the show and took to Twitter to share their excitement.

“Don’t usually watch #Permissive women but it’s good to see @Stacey Solomon back, she’s glowing,” wrote one.

While others praised her for raising awareness of the tongue tie, she wrote: ” #Permissive women My third daughter had a posterior tongue tie at birth. Feeding was so painful. I knew about it #tongue tie but had never heard of the later version. Mothers should be given more support to help with feeding. Thanks for raising awareness.”

Stacey has Rose with her future husband Joe Swash

Stacey hasn’t been on the show in full since Rose’s birth, but she and Joe appeared with the baby in a special celebratory episode last year, in which she discussed the possibility that she and her fiancé would finally get married in 2022.

“Yes we would love it…if all goes well…because Covid is still massive and you never know what’s around the corner but we would love to get married in July next year, we really would. It’s going to be so nice to have that guys and Rose there,” she said.

Admitting she struggled with sleeping, she added, “I put on a hell of a lot of makeup for this interview and you can’t even see it, it’s soaking into my skin now. She sleeps, she sleeps like a newborn – you really are up all night, aren’t you? But she is good. She’s happy, which is nice. She’s amazing, she’s really lovely. I can’t stop staring at her.”
