Steelrising gameplay first look has a lot of clang, updated release date

steel cratesthe alternate reality set in 18th century France has received a new gameplay trailer but is also set to be delayed until later in the year.

In case you didn’t manage to find your Souls-like solution elden ringSteelrising is an upcoming take on the genre greed case developer be crazy. Not much of the game was shown, but publisher Nacon released a five-minute gameplay video that really shows the game. However, the game has now also been postponed from June to September 8th.

Things are more in the vibes wise bloodborne direction since it is set in Paris in 1789. The gameplay seems more offensive than what you might find in Bloodborne, although there seems to be a dedicated jump button for some verticality, as well as a hook shot to give it a bit of something Sekiro Flair.

The trailer features the main character Aegis, a ceramic android created by one of King Louis XVI’s engineers. as you journey through the alternate timeline of Paris and face off against the king’s army of robotic automatons. There’s a variety of robots to see, with some really strong steampunk looks.

In part of the trailer, Aegis goes up against a boss called The Bishop of the Cité, who’s a vaguely papal robot rolling around on a big ball, wielding a fancy staff and a book.

“The City of Light has been plunged into darkness and needs you,” reads the trailer’s description. “Use your energy, flexibility and tools to navigate the streets, rooftops, neighborhoods and castles of Paris and unveil hidden mysteries.

“Plunge into a captivating alternate history filled with formidable mechanical enemies and potential allies with questionable motives. You are the only one you can count on to unravel the knots of the story and ensure the revolution succeeds!”

Steelrising will be available later this year on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
