The true story behind a neo-Nazi plot to kill a British MP has been adapted into a TV series starring Stephen Graham.
he Walk In, which premiered on ITV on October 3, chronicles the murder plan and how it was disrupted by the anti-fascist campaign group Hope No Hate (Hnh).
The show was announced on Tuesday – the same day terrorist target, Rosie Cooper, said she would step down as MP for West Lancashire.
Ms Cooper alluded to the impact of the incident in her statement, in which she said: “The events I have faced over the past few years are well documented and certainly have had consequences for them. “
The ITV drama focuses on Robbie Mullen, Hnh’s informant Matthew Collins – played by Graham – and how the organization infiltrated the far-right terrorist group National Action (NA) and prevented the attack. public in 2017.
Mr. Mullen, a former member of the National Assembly, had a long period of underground work for Hnh.
His information about the NA conspiracies and activities was turned over to the police and led to a high-profile trial at the Old Bailey.
Jack Renshaw, 27, from Skelmersdale, Lancashire, is currently serving a life sentence for preparing to commit a terrorist act.
The plot to kill Ms Cooper comes just a year after the terrorist murder of Labor colleague Jo Cox.
Since the NA was designated a terrorist group for glorifying the killing of Ms. Cox, 19 extremists have been successfully prosecuted for membership.

The Walk In will be released on ITV and ITV Hub from October 3 with an in-depth documentary following the series.
