Saturday Night Takeaway: Stephen Mulhern Hosts Game
Stephen Mulher has been released from the hospital after being treated for a mysterious illness that forced him to withdraw from his duties as co-host of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
The 44-year-old TV presenter is said to be recovering at home after successfully being treated for a mysterious illness – but he may be forced to miss TV work for weeks as he recovers.
And it’s been almost a month since Stephen was last seen on Saturday Night Takeaway when he appeared in the opening show of the latest series.
At the time, he dressed up as former US President Donald Trump for part of a skit and had previously worried fans when he was also quiet on social media.

But now it is reported that the star is recuperating at home after being treated for an unspecified health condition.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: “Stephen went to the hospital for medical procedures, but has now been discharged and is focusing all of his energy on recovering.
“He hopes to return to the show as soon as he feels well and enough. He is currently resting and supporting the players at home. “
Stephen previously opened up to fans to tell them he’s on a doctor’s order not to work – with a rare tweet explaining why he’s absent from TV screens.

He wrote: “Hello everyone. Sorry I’ve been quiet here lately and thank you for all your lovely messages.
“I have had a period of rest and am resting as prescribed by the doctor. I’m working on repairs, I’m happy to say and look forward to getting back to work soon.
“In the meantime, I’m going to put my feet up and watch Saturday Night Takeaway tonight with the rest of you.
“Please don’t miss me too much! Love very much. ”
One fan was delighted to see that the star was OK and responded to the tweet, writing: “Great to see this tweet, Stephen. My daughter asks most days if you’ve tweeted anything and are genuinely interested. “
Stephen has gained more fans in recent weeks as he replaced Phillip Schofield as host of Dancing On Ice while the This Morning star was forced to miss the show due to a positive Covid test result.
Fans took to Twitter to praise Stephen – who co-hosted the show alongside Holly Willoughby – and urged show bosses to hire him as a full-time replacement.
One impressed fan exclaimed: “Please, can Stephen Mulhern be a permanent replacement? #DancingOnIce. ”
While another tweeted: “Stephen Mulhern needs a big primetime screening! Love him already #DancingOnIce. ”
And another wrote: “I think Stephen Mulhern should present #DancingOnIce every week! He smiles the right way! “
