Stephen Mulhern’s doctor ordered him to stay out of school at Saturday Night during the third week of the run.
He wrote on twitter: “Hi everyone, Sorry for being quiet here lately and thanks for all your lovely messages.
“I’ve had some time off and am resting as prescribed by my doctor. I’m in repair, I’m happy to say and look forward to getting back to work soon. In the meantime…
“I’m going to put my feet up and watch Tonight Takeaway Saturday with the rest of you very much. Please don’t miss me too much! Much love, Stephen. X”
Stephen made a brief appearance on the show’s premiere night on February 19 dressed as Donald Trump for the series’ opening.
Last week, fans were shocked when the humorous man disappeared from our screens with many taking to Twitter to question Stephen’s whereabouts.
One wrote: @antanddec @StephenMulhern #SaturdayNightTakeaway where is Stephen he hasn’t been on the show for the past two weeks?? “
Along with being on the SNT, Stephen was on the sensational Philip Schofield scramble on DOI and he’s also fronted Catchphrase.
