Fisherman catches fish with another fish in it

A deep-sea fisherman shared a picture of a strange-looking creature he caught in Russia called “Frankenstein’s Fish.”

Roman Fedortsov, a fisherman working on a trawler in Murmansk, northwestern Russia, has dedicated his life in search of unknown creatures.

He spends months of his life at sea, much to the delight of his 649,000 followers on Instagram – @rfedortsov_official_accountwhere he often shares snaps of terrifying looking creatures from the depths he has found.

Recently, Roman shared an almost translucent muzzle with sweeping fins, a long, thresher-like tail, and a ghostly-looking eye.

The fish was covered in strange markings that made it look like it had been sewn together.

The post garnered more than 5,000 likes.

Instagram users were intrigued by the Frankenstein find, with one person saying, “I’ve been looking for this little guy in these waters for a few years, you’re very lucky, it’s awesome.”

Many users were quick to compare the alien creature to cartoon characters, with one person commenting, “Looks like a Pokemon.”

Another user said, “Wow looks like a cartoon fish.”

Many aspiring oceanographers had their own guess as to what this grizzly looking creature might be, with one person saying, “Hey! A ghost chimera! Also known as ghost sharks, ratfish, haunted fish and rabbit fish! I don’t see pictures of them very often.”

Others praised the modern day Jacques Cousteau, with one adding: “Love to see these wonderful creatures!”.

Roman’s other finds include a parasite that had attached itself to a fish’s eye and another animal creature that had spat out its stomach contents.

It seems the murkier the discovery, the more it stirs the imagination.
