The Australian-born Australian said she hasn’t stopped burping since she was diagnosed.

She wrote on her Instagram story: “I have a random (but pretty funny) symptom. I can’t stop burping.

“I looked it up and it was clearly part of the gastrointestinal symptoms of Covid, although not that common. Has anyone else done this with Covid? “

A poll of her followers revealed that about 16% also belched more than usual during Covid.

The model, 29, tested positive after her partner Justin contracted the virus, as cases in Australia soared.

When the Covid PCR test came back positive, she wrote: “Glad to know my constant belching isn’t just me being a little freaked out.”

Olivia says that as the disease progressed, she also experienced loss of appetite and nausea, and admits the food “went straight to her”.

She also suffered from headaches, sore throat, dizziness and “itchy eyes” while she waited for a positive test result.

Covid has previously caused respiratory symptoms, such as cough, and more recently cold-like symptoms.

But the virus has been shown to affect people in more niche ways, including by messing with the digestive system.

The most common is loss of appetite, loss of smell or taste, some people also have diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.

Heartburn is one of the more rare digestive symptoms, along with acid reflux, indigestion, and colitis. MedicalNewsToday.

In some people, it can last for several weeks as part of a long Covid, research has shown.

A study highlighted by researchers in Lancet The medical journal found that 44% of patients admitted from China had stomach-related problems 3 months after discharge.

Of the 117 patients studied, one in 10 had more belching than before.
