Stranger Things part 2 almost has a darker ending between eleven and her mother

The writers are right: it’s madness. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) meets her biological mother, Terry Ives (Aimee Mullins), during the show’s second season, and even though Terry suffers from catatonia, she’s still able to share her tragic story through his thoughts. As it turns out, Terry tried to save the formerly kidnapped Eleven from government testing when she was a child, but was eventually captured and tortured with shock therapy. This leaves her almost completely unresponsive, which is how Hopper (David Harbour) and Joyce (Winona Ryder) found her in the show’s first season.

It’s unclear exactly when the show’s writers planned for Eleven to “kill” her mother, but perhaps the pair met sometime in “Dig Dug,” the season’s fifth episode. Terry’s story also returns in the polarizing episode “The Lost Sister”, which features a superpowered teenage girl traveling to Chicago to find her long-lost friend – and fellow experimenter. – Potassium (Linnea Berthelsen). There, under Kali’s vengeful tutelage, Eleven cornered the man who tortured her mother, but decided to spare her life after discovering he had a family of his own. However, El never returned to his mother, and Terry (who is still alive) has not appeared in the film in any way since.
