CORONATION Street fans are going wild over Sally Metcalfe’s arrest.
The former Mayor – who was played by actress Sally Dynevor in the ITV drama – has been arrested for urinating in public after being caught in front of the camera.
A local newspaper ran the story and police arrested her at the hospital where her husband Tim was taking a detour.
The pair clashed over his decision to keep the truth from her – and she stormed out.
But when Sally returned, the nurse told her that Tim was questioning her.
“It was a bit of a touch and go – he almost turned down the selection,” she said as Sally looked delighted.
But when Tim was being arrested for surgery, he saw an image of Sally fighting the police in the hallway.
It was later revealed that Sally kicked a hole in the vending machine window to avoid being arrested for peeing in public.
When Tim also arrives, they all try to keep it a secret from him – but he quickly sees a sheet of paper that reveals it all.
The front page has a picture of Sally hanging out on the street on New Year’s Eve.
He is horrified to find out that Sally’s arrest is real and wants to know the full story.
Elaine told him: “She didn’t want to leave the hospital while you were having surgery so she caused a fight.
“There was an altercation, and she stepped on the vending machine. It was criminal damage so they arrested her and took her to the police station.”
After that, Sally was let go – but viewers couldn’t see the scene where she kicked a hole in the vending machine out of their heads.
They were agitated at the scene.
One person wrote: “Only our Sally got caught.”
One second said: “Sally? Resist arrest? Definitely not!”
Another added: “Oh my, poor Tim couldn’t even have open heart surgery if it weren’t for Sally trying to defend him.”
