The brave mother of the star Oksana Platero told about her terrifying ordeal of running away from home in Ukraine.
When a shell hit Inna Dmytrenko’s 10-year-old son Kirill’s school and increased air raids on Kharkiv, she made the heartbreaking decision to leave on March 2, along with Kirill and niece Elena, 30 years old.
Inna, 53, said: ‘The explosions were happening more and more often, and Oksana called me and said, ‘Mom, I have to go.
“It’s scary in an air strike, but the biggest fear is that your child will be killed.

“I’ll just cover him with my body in the bunker so that even if we get shot, holy god, he won’t die.”
After a 29-hour train journey to Lviv in western Ukraine, the three then traveled to the border with Hungary by BlaBlaCar.

“The train was like nothing I’ve seen before, except in a World War II movie,” Inna said.
Lawyer Rob Rinder, 43, Oksana’s partner, 33, is traveling to Ukraine to help other members of her family.
“Rob is a good man,” Inna said.
