Strikes at Royal Mail called off after Queen’s death, Communication Workers Union confirms

A PLANNED strike by Royal Mail staff on Friday has been called off following the Queen’s death.

Communication Workers Union members should continue a 48-hour strike over pay and working conditions disputes.

Secretary General Dave Ward said: “Following the very sad news of the Queen’s death and out of respect for her service to the country and her family, the union has decided to cancel tomorrow’s planned strike action.”

It comes after the RMT confirmed its planned strikes, scheduled for September 15-17, have been suspended.
