THOMAS TUCHEL has admitted his star striker Romelu Lukaku is lacking confidence as his struggle for goals continues.
The Chelsea striker has scored just once so far this year – netting in the net 5-1 FA Cup of Chesterfield’s lifespan.
The relationship between owner Tuchel and the Belgian international has been strained since then gave a controversial interview in which he said the Blues’ system was not right for him.
Then he was dropped from the squad to face Liverpool at the beginning of the year, but has since returned to the squad.
And Tuchel told Sky Sports: “(Lukaku) lacks a bit of confidence, he lacks a bit of serve, momentum.
“This is what we try to reset is probably the hardest because strikers are sensitive players.
“It’s not just Romelu that’s struggling and right now we don’t have anyone else jumping in to score, score and score.
“So I agree that it’s not just about Romelu, it’s about our attacking players in general and we try to help them and try to get through this phase because we believe To all of them, they are our players, and they deserve it. . ”

Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge after a seven-year absence from a blockbuster £97.5M deal last summer.
