MINNEAPOLS (WCCO) – A North High School student is accused of assaulting school staff and a school resources officer after being questioned about carrying a loaded firearm on campus Monday.
North St Police. Paul had arrived at the request of the high school when an altercation broke out involving a student armed with a gun, according to a school release.
Before the officers arrived, the school said the officer in charge assisted school staff in questioning the student. When the student was asked about the gun, that’s when the student began assaulting school staff and the officer, the statement said.
Police can gain control of students and guns through “less lethal options,” the statement said.
This student was arrested and charged with several counts. The student’s name will not be released due to their age.
